The property is situated in the townland of Straheens, on a quiet lane, only 200 metres from the shoreline.

Achill Sound Village is a short distance away and has a selection of pubs, a takeaway, a Cafe, a well stocked supermarket, a pharmacy, Achill Tourism Office, and various other facilities available. 

The very popular Great Western Greenway Cycle Path begins at Achill Sound and can be followed all the way to the busy town of Westport.
